I Got The Power, Solar Power!

A company out of Norway called, Renewable Energy Corp or REC, is planning on building the largest solar power plant ever. The company invested an initial $2.6 billion in to the project and wants production to start in the first quarter of 2010. Final costs are expected to rise above $6 billion. But I bet your wondering where they plan to build this gigantic thing. Well out of 200 locations that REC had in mind, they picked Singapore. By 2012, about 1,100 employees in their new plant in Singapore’s Tuas district will initially produce 740MW of solar wafers, 550MW of solar cells and 590MW of solar modules a year.
