Watch stars collide and explode from the comfort of home!

Somewhere in the

Universe

there’s a lonely star slowly exploding out of existence and another being born in a fantastic dance of gas and light. I find that I am missing out on all of this and soon Google produces an answer… The greatest at home planetarium projector gadget ever- the Uncle Milton Homestar System. One look at this new in-home star theater tells you that this is a serious upgrade from those little sticky glow in the dark stars that you put up in 5th grade. In fact, this could completely replace that setup!

The Home Star system promises that you can be witness to the lives of the stars without ever having to leave Earth’s surface! Interplanetary travel aside, this is a great thing to have around the home to teach kids the seasons and motions of space objects and to spur an interest in science. For the amateur astronomer, it could quench the thirst for space spotting by providing a comfortable seat in one’s trusty lazy-boy without having to fine tune little knobs on a sub-freezing night (ironically the best times for star viewing).

I like to think that there is a little bit of the great thinker Carl Sagan in each of us, much like he says that there is a little bit of star-stuff in each of us. That being the case, this Home Star Projector should tickle the fancy of even the most jaded futurist out there. Hat Tip to the geeky and lovable folks at Coolest Gadgets for bringing this fine contraption to my attention.
